Memorial Service for Jim
The Houston family is pleased to announce that a public memorial service for our Dad, Jim Houston, will be held at First Baptist Church, 969 Burrard St, Vancouver, Canada, at 1 pm on Saturday May 2, 2026. While this service will be live-streamed, we invite any who wish to come and celebrate the life of our father, and to worship and give thanks to our God. Jim Houston 1922-2026
James MacIntosh Houston finished his well-run race on earth on March 15th, 2026, in Vancouver, surrounded by his family and a host of loving friends. He was 103 years old. Jim was born to missionary parents, James and Ethel May Houston, in Edinburgh, on November 21, 1922. His young boyhood was spent in Spain, and he later attended school in Edinburgh. After an unremarkable schooling, he won the gold medal in geography at Edinburgh University and completed a DPhil at Oxford

Celebrating 103 years on Nov 21, 2025
Dear friends The family would like to thank you for your many birthday messages that Dad has received to celebrate his 103 rd birthday. Cards, emails, and phone calls have brought great joy to him. Rather than a one-time celebration, he has been well celebrated over the whole month. His men’s Bible study group, which he attended for over 50 years, came in small groups for a visit.
